Service Description:
|
Continuum of care for adults with serious and complex mental illnesses * services offered at the community health centre or in the community
General Psychiatrist Consultation Clinic - The Psychiatrist Consultation Service provides assessment, medication review, and treatment recommendations via a "shared care" model with family physicians
Short-Term Treatment - Provides Short Term individual therapy for adults experiencing predominantly mood and anxiety disorders; complex personality disorders with comorbidity, and severe adjustment reaction disorders where group therapy is not evidenced based
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) - Two formats of DBT are offered: the comprehensive program offered to clients diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder which includes intensive individual and group treatment up to 26 weeks and the DBT skills only group which includes group based intervention to assist individuals who have difficulty regulating emotional responses
Concurrent Disorders Clinic - Provides individual and group assessment, consultation and treatment for individuals with co-occurring mental health and addiction concerns
Medication Clinic - The Medication Clinic facilitates the optimal use of psychotropic medications to ensure client stability in the community and supports clients in maintaining adequate functioning and an enhanced quality of life * primarily for individuals on an injectable medication
Phoenix Program-Early Intervention Service - The program assists individuals who are experiencing early signs and symptoms of psychosis * the recovery-focused program helps individuals achieve their goals at work, at school, and within their social networks * the team includes psychiatrists, nurses, a social worker, an occupational therapist, a peer support worker and a substance use counsellor
