Position:  Nurse Manager

Region:  Cambridge & Area, Kitchener-Waterloo & Area, Guelph & Wellington

Description:  We are currently looking for someone to join our management team in the role of eShift Manager within our eHomeCare program. The position would require flexibility as schedules may change.

The eShift Manager is responsible for overseeing the eShift palliative program which involves Directing Registered Nurses and Enhanced Personal Support Workers. This position requires participation in an on-call and weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

-Responsible for ongoing monitoring for need to increase staffing / replace staff who have left as defined by the needs of the eShift Program in collaboration with NMs & RM of the local division
-Responsible for arranging job postings, screen resumes, interviewing and selecting suitable candidates; present offers and ensure proper new hire documentation is completed
-Ensure all eShift Support Workers complete competency assessment prior to education
-Lead /facilitate orientation and education in palliative care; plan and arrange technology, orientation, organizing materials
-Facilitate skills day for new eShift Support Workers
-Review eShift Support Workers Policy & Procedure Manual with eShift Support Workers and new Directing Registered Nurses
-Assist in development of working schedules in keeping with hiring agreements
-Assess new referrals for eShift Support Workers ability to observe and report adequately
-Perform preceptor/mentorship visits with eShift Support Workers who certification in skills delegated to them – this is required for every client that this skill is required for – non-transferrable between clients
-Trouble shoot and problem solve as required – must be flexible to needs
-Establish and maintain good relationships with LHIN case managers to ensure success of program
-Provide education, mentorship and support for visiting nurses related to eShift Program
-Provide educational opportunities for eShift Support Workers and DRNs to ensure continued growth and development
-Review documentation in electronic chart and address deficiencies and identify strengths with eShift Support Workers and DRNs
-Perform annual performance appraisals with eShift Support Workers and DRNs
-Maintain statistical data to assist in evaluation of eShift Program in cooperation with Palliative Program Lead
-Complete occurrence reports as required related to eShift Program
-Conduct home visits as required to address complex client/family challenges

Qualifications

-Registered Nurse with current Certificate of registration with The College of Nurses of Ontario.
-Between 3 to 6 years community nursing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Excellent computer skills are required
-Thorough knowledge of case management skills and nursing processes and practices.
-Experience working with Palliative clients or completed Palliative courses
-Previous Supervisory experience is considered an asset
