Service Description: The Millhouse Resthome is a small community of individuals and families in Halton Hills and Acton, Ontario who have chosen to take shelter under the same roof

A residence in a home-like setting for individuals with schizophrenia and other psychiatric problems or anyone who needs supervision with their medication * 12 bed capacity, all male residents * room and board and personal needs allowance

The home provides:
  • 24-hour care by a Personal Support Worker and supervision by a Registered Nurse
  • full service for the residents including hot meals and laundry
  • linens are changed once a week or when necessary
  • staff assists during medication time
  • foot care and barber services available
  • scheduled activities once a week
  • scheduled shopping and outing trips
  • arranged ride to appointments
  • residents also participate in the Support Program & special needs program through the Canadian Mental Health Association, STRIDE, Summit Housing and the Dr. Dougan Foundation
  • accepts referrals from Summit Housing, Support Housing, Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), hospitals and clinics

* after completing an application, qualified applicants will be put on a 3 month trial period * self referral is also possible
