Service Description: Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC):
  • a course for newcomers to Canada who need basic introductory training to develop listening, speaking, reading, writing and grammar skills
  • available at campuses in Brampton, Mississauga and Oakville
  • 14-week program
  • various starting dates throughout the year
  • full-time program, running Monday to Friday 9:15 am-1:45 pm

Occupation-specific Language Training (OSLT):
  • a program for people who are educated and trained in their home country, and need to improve their workplace communication skills
  • improves ability to get a job in Canada with workplace-specific vocabulary training
  • develops strong interviewing, networking and communication skills
  • teaches career-specific English language and Canadian culture in areas such as Health Sciences, Business and Technology professions
  • blended course format (evenings and online components) allows students to fit education around work and other life responsibilities
  • minimum post-secondary degree or diploma and relevant work experience in home country required
  • minimum CLB score of 6 and above required

Enhanced Language Training (ELT):
  • a program for people who are educated and trained in their home country, and need to improve English language skills
  • 12-week, full-time program
  • teaches career-specific English language, employment preparation and Canadian culture
  • minimum post-secondary degree or diploma and relevant work experience in home country required
  • minimum CLB score of 6 and above required
