Service Description: Emergency shelter program for males and females:

Stepping Stone Men's Shelter: emergency food and housing for men for 28 days; referrals to social workers and community services (mental health, addictions, financial assistance depending on the needs of the individual)

Dwelling Place Women's Shelter: emergency, overnight accommodation to women and children up to age 12; duration of stay limited to 28 days, no cost; meals provided; within walking distance of downtown

Motel Shelter Program: Motel rooms are offered to families experiencing homelessness; stay is on a week-by-week basis

**A shelter overflow process exists - no one is turned away

Application: Referrals made through the Drop In Centre
Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Winter Warmth Fund: low-income families living at or below the poverty line who have exhausted all other sources of financial support. Approved households receive a one time grant.
