September is Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS Month)

Local businesses are helping to raise money for youth!

Big Brothers Big Sisters Month is here! This September, many businesses throughout Waterloo Region are setting up Point-of-Sale campaigns to raise funds for local youth in need of Mentorship. September is Big Brothers Big Sisters month, a time to celebrate all the lives that have been changed by a Mentor and to bring awareness to those who still need our support. There are 240 youth across Waterloo Region waiting for someone to believe in them.

With September being BBBS Month, there is no better time to get involved and be a part of something BIG, something that the entire community can contribute to. Anybody can participate, from local retailers to large chains! Nando’s, Four All Ice Cream, The Walper Hotel, SportsClips, goodvibes juice co, The Golden Mean Wellness and The Apollo Cinema are all collecting funds at their point-of-purchase to name a few, with Golfplay hosting a Swing for a Million event from September 20th-22nd! From September 17th to October 18th, you can even find donation bins across participating LCBO’s!

Join in on the conversation by using #ImagineBBBS and #MentoringMatters on social media, and look out for some of the Region’s most notable people getting involved in the conversation, including Cambridge Mayor Doug Craig, Waterloo Mayor Dave Jaworsky and Raj Saini MP. Find Big Brothers Big Sisters of Waterloo Region at Cambridge Centre Mall on September 21st and 22nd hosting a sticker wall, 3d sneaker craft with professional sneaker artists, a fashion show, a butterfly mural, and a free painting workshop for all kids!
